From Time to Time
Mar 16, 2022If you want to be less frustrated when making goals or your "to do lists" give yourself a week to do them in, rather than one day.
Let's get real. We all have our good days and our bad days. If you are like me, it is way easier to get things done when we are up, not down.
It is also way easier to beat oneself up because we didn't get done what we set out to do that particular day.
Instead of focusing on one day, make a point of saying, "this week I will accomplish..." That way you have seven days in which to get it done.
Lets take the example of making your goal to do 5 sit ups a day. Over the course of seven days that would be a total of 35 sit ups.
If I am sick or just to lazy or tired to do them on a particular day, I don't need to beat myself up, especially if my goal is to do 35 sit ups in a week.
That means I can do zero one day and ten the next if I want and still feel good about having averaged 5 sit ups a day.
So, if you want to be less frustrated and more realistic, let your time be extended over a longer period of time and push harder on those days you feel good, giving yourself permission to ease up on those days that you just need a break.
